On June 26th, one of Global Giving’s in-the-field represenatives, Kelly Kurz came to visit the GLK Student Fund to meet with trustees, volunteers, and, of course, our students. Hosted by Joyce Lwakatare and Philemon Johannes, Kelly said that “he loved meeting the students.” When Kelly arrived, he traveled with Joyce and Philemon to visit KEMPS, the school where Gayle Kliever taught for many years and a school where a number of scholarship students attend.
Kelly also visited another school, KADBEMPS, where one of our scholarship students, Suzan is a primary school student. He had the opportunity to meet with other GlobalGiving Scholarship Students: Annagrace and Ines. He was able to speak with the mother of Ines about schooling and their experience with the GLK Student Fund. Overall, the visit seems to be positive for all parties. The GLK Student Fund has loved the partnership and support Global Giving has offered us and our students and we look forward to more collaboration in the future!
